Being a huge fan of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters series, I kind of felt obliged to watch every series it proceeds. I decided to re-write this impression after watching the second episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZeXal. First of all, after finally knowing the final flow of the story, Astral, Yuma's spirit-ego (or whatever he should be called), similar to Yami Yugi, lost his memories. For Yugi, he has to complete all 7 millennium items and place all of them in Egypt. As for Yuma, he has to collect all 100 number cards to be able to recover Astral's memories. On the mare realization of this plot, I actually concluded that the story is a recreation of the original series but with better graphics, annoying characters, bad character design, a whole lot more comedy, an utterly un-good looking rival, some whole new rules && cards, an entirely different historical background for the monsters and a lighter story that can easily be grasp on with the same old theme: friendship, victory, teamwork and never giving up. Anyway, I was reading the comments on the second episode and I do have to agree with the one comment I read, it's really stupid that Yuma actually doesn

Yumekui Merry

7.00 (above average) Yumekui Merry is a Winter 2011 anime and I did started it during that season but I eventually got bored. The story seems all interested given that there's this guy, Yumeiji (Okamoto Nobuhiko) who can actually know if you'll have a nightmare or not. Then, there's this so-called dream demon who'll do everything to get back to the dream world. The opening of the anime is pretty interesting. It started out with Yumeiji's action pack dream where in cats standing in two legs (LOL) are chasing after him and they seem to be under this guy called, John Doe (I'm not sure if this name is correct). Anyway, animation-wise, J.C. Staff has never let me down. It's smooth and looks great. But story-wise, honestly speaking, I was never a fan. Since the second episode, I grew tired of it. Maybe I can just say that J.C. Staff has the tendency to write series in a boring manner that might actually make their viewers bored and only real fans stay until the end. Anyway, the conclusion of Yumekui Merry also greatly disappointed me. At first, they were all so weak and can't even tough Mistelteinn then after Yumeiji's dramatic speech, they suddenly became so strong and fast that they were able to finish Mistelteinn. Seriously? Plus, Yumeiji's dream is one of the lamest thing ever. I mean seriously. Not that being helpful, not giving up and stuff is not good at all but, for a dream, your life's dream, it's pretty pointless. It just doesn't seem right. Overall, Yumekui Merry has this seemingly interesting plot but as you go on watching, it gets boring. Though, I don't have anything against this series, it's just not something you'll stick around for along.

Zombie Loan

8.25 (good) Zombie Loan is one of those animes with a good combination of action and typical comedy. the story is fairly interesting && i really do wish that there's a season 2 because the final episode turned out to be a cliff-hanger... but then, i can sense that there won't be a season 2 since the manga actually ended a few months back. anyway, the characters are very likable. i definitely loved them all most especially Akatsuki, Chika o(>w<)o

overall, this series is recommended for those who likes action-comedy type of anime though it's quite disappointing that it's only an 11-episode anime. but still, it's a very enjoyable anime to watch :D
