Kimi ni Todoke

Last Updated: May 02, 2011

10.00 (excellent) Kimi ni Todoke is definitely as series worth watching. The 25-episode season 1 is worth the time. the story it self is very moving. it's a mixture of drama, romance and comedy. the comedy and romance part is really cute and the drama is never forced. plus, Kazehaya Shota is one of my favorite heroes because he's seems to be the ideal guy but in reality he's not. the pairing Kazahaya x Sawako is totally cute because they both get nervous being together, etc.. x3 (saying this reminds me of Shuujin (from Bakuman.) saying that he likes couples like Saiko x Miho because they still get the can't-breath-being-in-the-same-room type of feeling. LOL.)

i just finished the 12-episode season 2 and it's definitely good though not as good as the 1st season. the 2nd season is full of their misunderstandings with the addition of Miura Kento (voiced by my fave seiyuu, Miyano Mamoru x3). the last few episodes were practically the best for me plus the cute, simple && unexpected confession of Sanada Ryu to Yoshida Chizuru. x3

9.50 (excellent) Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? is a zombie anime without the gore. LOL. it's a combination of ecchi && comedy which makes the anime really good. the plot is quite simple though not entirely that unique and the main hero, Aikawa Ayumu is really great. every episode is really interesting and almost equally funny. personally for me, it's a really great anime and is recommended for those who like ecchi-comedy types though this is practically not the fave-anime type for me. o(^ v ^)o

8.25 (good) Lucky Star is practically one of those many animes that is truly 100% slice of life anime. It practically shows how funny the simple things that happens to us really are. Watching this series is definitely quite entertaining it's just that, I can't give a 10 because it isn't really my type of anime. Either way, Lucky Star is definitely one of those animes that is worth watching(:

8.00 (good) I just finished watching this one yesterday and I have to admit that it's not really the type of anime that I get all excited about but maybe if you're a fan of the typical comedy, slice of life anime, you might like this one. the characters are very great and well made for their roles. every episode tackles a different story yet the comedy part is well maintained. anyway, as I've said, this anime is pretty much enjoyable and fun to watch if you're into the typical comedy, slice of life anime(:

8.00 (good) not my favorite type of anime material but this is definitely one good anime. the humor is similar to those typical comedy, romance type. also, I have to admit that I sort of get annoyed at the fact that Taro-kun is an M. it's because whenever they hit him, it's so obvious what'll happen plus, he looks really stupid whenever he wishes to be hit again, LOL! anyway, the character design isn't really my type but it's really bad, I'm just a bit picky. LOL. anyway, this anime is pretty much likable despite the things I said, though it's not something that can probably make you sit back and watch it continuously because I have to admit that at some point, I got bored with this. ^v^

9.75 (excellent) practically, Gundam Seed is definitely an anime worth watching. it's one of those few long running animes i finished watching (even though it's just 50 episodes. LOL) because it's really great. once i started, it was practically difficult for me to pull out. the action and suspense in every episodes are definitely something. also, every character is unique, they are very easy to understand, just like the story itself. but maybe if you're not a fan of those battle/action animes, i'm guessing this is something you won't get suck into... :P

Last Updated: Apr 19, 2011

9.25 (very good) Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny is a direct sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam Seed which happened like 2yrs after. the story is fairly interesting && it mostly dealt with the background of the characters and less on the mobile suits though the mobile suits did stay looked really well(: i really loved the reappearance of Justice && Freedom though i really do wish that Buster and Duel had their reappearance as well :< anyway, most of the characters annoyed me most especially Stellar (no offence on her fans, but i really do just see her as Flay of GSD :P) && Cagalli (though i quite liked Cagalli in GS, she turned out annoying here, most especially during the beginning until the middle part, sorry to her fans).. anyway, Athrun still played a really great character (that just makes him my favorite for both GS && GSD). i also liked Shinn though there were times that i hate him. LOL.

anyway, overall, if you liked Gundam Seed, you might as well watch this series because it's a good sequel though don't expect to much because personally, i still like Gundam Seed more(:

Nichijou

Last Updated: Oct 05, 2011

8.50 (very good) I'm not a big fan of animes without story and random jokes but then, sometimes, it's just good to watch them. Nichijou striked me after the special episode I watched before the actual series air, Nichijou: Episode 0. My first impression of Nichijou was an exaggerated version of Lucky Star but then, after coming this far, I have to admit that they do have very distinct differences. Anyyway, story-wise, Nichijou keeps up with a per-episode story between the trio, Mio, Yuuko and Mai and Nano, Hakase and Sakamoto. And in between the story that's happening with these characters are random skits about the background characters such as the principal, their sense, the activities of the other clubs, etc.. Also, Nichijou has maintained its level of exaggerated comedy and I definitely like it(: With a lot more episodes to go, I'm certainly not looking for a grand conclusion but just more hilarious episodes ahead :D Character-wise, Nichijou definitely have some good characters, most of them are just plain hilarious in their own ways such as Mai-chan and Yuuko-chan. The two of them never fails to make me laugh every episode. Also, I love the combination of Hakase and Nano :D As for the music, I definitely like it. OP and ED are both definitely fitting for this random comedy type of anime. Also, background music are good, they add mood to the jokes(: Art-wise, it's like a combination of the cute-style of Lucky Star with a touch of old-school drawings. Though despite the old-school drawings, such as Yuuko's reactions, Nichijou's atmosphere still makes it very fitting for this style of art. Overall, Nichijou is a really good random comedy anime and is a good anime to watch for entertainment(: It's recommended for those who love animes without story and mostly filled with random comedy(:

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2011

7.25 (above average) I'm never really a fan of panchira-ecchi animes but then, OreTsubasa just practically caught my attention. Story-wise, the first episodes were practically confusing. Seriously. I was just able to understand the whole changing of personality (or whatever it should be called) by around episode 5 though if you think about it carefully, it really is a wonder why this character is always shown during the afternoon and this character is only shown during evening. Anyway, the construction of the story is pretty weak and not intriguing part only comes every ones in a while that's why this anime isn't really something that calls for attention unless you're a fan of panchira shots though I have to admit that the plot itself was kind of interesting. As for the conclusion, it was seriously weak. Not that it's bad or anything but, everything was just so sudden. I mean, last thing I know, they were changing places in Haneda-kun body next thing I know, the reason was suddenly revealed as to why he was changing personality. What I'm trying to say is that, they just made a conclusion without giving any clues at all as to what really is the problem. Character-wise, each hero is very distinct, Haneda being the silent guy and who owns the body at morning and goes to school, then there's this perverted orange-haired guy, Shusuke who works at Alexander and writes for a magazine and finally, Narita is so-called violent guy who knows many people in gangs and sometimes he, himself gets involve in them despite that, he's a really nice guy. Anyway, as for the heroines, they are practically standard and not really that interesting. As for the music, BGM is good though it's quite typical. As for the OP and ED, they weren't really my type but they fit the theme of the story quite well(: Also the OP and is very much compatible with the anime itself. As for the seiyuu, I have to give credits to Miura, Hiroaki for doing a great job with Shusuke. I really like his upbeat talking, it's kind of entertaining :D As for Narita's seiyuu, Suwabe, Junichi, I seriously didn't like his voice. I personally think that it was too deep that during the first episode, I seriously laugh when I heard his voice. Another seiyuu that caught my attention here is my favorite, Sugita, Tomokazu as DJ Condor, that big somehow robotic narrator at the beginning of each episode. Other than that, I don't really have much complaints. Art-wise, at first, I seriously got irritated and said that it was really poor. But then, I somehow think that I just got used to it that it seems kind of good for me. If you're asking, panchira-shots were good, though I'm not that certain about it since I'm not really into them. Anyway, the only thing I hate about the drawings are the people involve with Narita. I don understand that they are the "gang" people but why do they have to look so unpleasant? Seriously. Overall, OreTsubasa had the interesting plot but poor execution. Though if you'd like to see panchira-shots, I'd recommend this anime :D

8.75 (very good) Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. Given its title, when I first heard of it, without reading the plot/synopsis, i decided to not watch it at all because it sounds like one of those Ojamajo-Doremi-type of anime i watched when i was in elementary. BUT i was stand corrected. After reading the plot && watching the first episode, i instantly liked it because it feels like Ojamajo Doremi meets Bakemonogatari with the way the anime was presented. it seems like Ojamajo Doremi because of how the mahou shoujos where dressed, then it feels like Bakemonogatari because of the realm of the witches (or whatever they call it, 'cause i forgot. LOL.). anyway, during the first two episodes, i was really interested but then, they seem to be repetitive that it bore me. but then, after watching a few more episodes that i reached episode 6,7 or something, it became interesting again so i continued watching, and watching until i finally finished it today... the ending is good, definitely(: it wasn't a candidate for a best anime conclusion for me, but i'm definitely satisfied with how it ended. i mean, there's not other way to end it, is there?

anyway, overall, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is definitely one of the few animes i enjoyed for Winter 2011. this anime is definitely recommended to be watched, the story though confusing at times can easily be grasp just continue watching it(: it's a really good anime :D

7.25 (above average) i decided to finish this series despite this being Ecchi since i kind of read the ending when i decided to stop watching this... after reading the ending, i continued watching and finished it, and i really hate the characters of this series because first Itou Makoto is a real pervert and manwhore, Katsura Kotonoha is quite annoying, Saionji Sekai is really annoying && she's a real bitch :)) and finally all the other girls in their school are all into Itou which makes this series more annoying because Itou is such a manwhore :P :P but despite all this annoying stuffs, the ending was good. SPOILER: Saionji killed Itou for going back with Katsura despite making her pregnant, then Katsura killed Saionji for killing Itou && for wanting to find out if she's really pregnant..

Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Aug 28, 2011

7.00 (above average) Personally, I have never been a fan of anything shounen ai. Seriously. I was just wondering around Tokyo Toshokan and found Sekaiichi Hatsukoi and knowing that Hatsukoi = First Love I just hit download. Anyway, forgetting about how I got to know this anime, when I first watch it I was seriously surprised and closed it immediately not even getting half of the anime, then after deciding that I'd go try random genres this season, I watched it and got fond with the comedy. Story-wise, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi holds a typical shoujo genre, with the "heroine" confessing to the guy she likes, they got separated after the guy went to college and years later, they accidentally meet again in the manga section of a publishing company. Honestly speaking, the story itself kind of caught me but having men going about themselves doesn't really suit my taste XP For the conclusion, it isn't anything big and it practically screams for a second season which this coming Fall 2011 is going to give us. As for the characters, they are fairly interesting. Every character has their very own arc. As for the main character, Onodera, Ritsu, I find him quite the comedic type of "heroine". Then, there's Takano, Masamune, the aggressive type of guy who'd do anything to make Onodera fall back in love to him. Personally, the most interesting love triangle in here is between shoujo mangaka, Yoshino, Chiaki; his chief assistant, Yanase, Yuu and his editor, Hatori, Yoshiyuki. Music-wise, it's the typical BGM for slice of life anime, I don't recall any interesting background music. As for the seiyuu, when I was browsing the cast, I saw Okamoto, Nobuhiko as Kisa, Shouta and Kamiya, Hiroshi as Yanase, Yuu. Though the two of them are some of my favorite seiyuus, I personally think that they didn't really standout that much in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. What got stuck in my head is the big, annoying (LOL) voice of Konishi, Katsuyuki as Takano. Other than that, nothing more. OP and ED-wise, OP gives you the shoujo feeling for the anime only to find out that it's actually a shounen ai. The ending, on the other hand, caught my attention. Well, it was kind of good if you ask me(: As for the art, the character designs were never really my type on the first place. Though for some of the characters, they seem cute such as Onodera and Kisa. Not the cute-I-like-them-type but more like the cute-like-a-girl type. Well, I guess it was because they ARE suppose to be the girls. Anyway, other than that, I don't anything more in mind. Overall, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is definitely something to watch for those who likes shoujo-romance type of anime. But if you're not into BL, you definitely won't like this, seriously.

After the first episode of SKET Dance I got so into this && I don't know why but the first episode totally got me but after that, the second episode totally just went off. Since the second episode, they encounter 2 requests and somehow it's just too fast-paced and senseless. Anyway, the story somehow failed because it seems that it wasn't give enough thought though the gags are totally good. Anyway, I definitely like Bossun, Himeko and Switch. They totally make a great team! Plus, the latest episode totally boost me up! XD It was totally hilarious most especially the first one. The girl who likes manga and actually sees Bossun as her prince. LOL. Overall, this anime is something that is highly recommended for those who like comedy, non-story anime. Well, I don't really know if this has a fixed storyline or just plain arc-by-arc anime 'cause I don't really read the manga at all :P

Last Updated: Sep 14, 2011

8.25 (good) Steins;Gate is one of my favorite animes from Spring 2011. With the interesting plot about time travelling, at first I got really bored with it but then, after the second episode, it had me looking forward to this every week. Story-wise, despite being an anime about time travelling, Steins;Gate gave considerations to those aren't into complicated things such as technical and scientific terms about their researches. Depending on the viewer, the story may seem boring but personally, it definitely caught my interest most especially after the second half. The second half definitely gave way for more interesting and intriguing things. Suspense has been rise up though the scenes mainly focused on Okabe, Rintarou and his dilemma. As for the characters, they are all practically good. Okabe is definitely one of the most outstanding main characters I've seen this Spring 2011. Being a serious-comedy type of guy, Okabe definitely lift off the boring part of the story. Then, another interesting character is Shiina, Mayushi. She's Okabe's childhood friend and she's lab member 002 though she doesn't really know anything about what Okabe is doing. She's the most innocent character and Okabe will do anything to save her even if it means crossing various world lines over and over. Music-wise, Steins;Gate didn't really caught my interest when it comes to OP and ED and background music. Though the background music is definitely very fitting for the scenes and it adds mood that it can actually reach its viewers. As for the seiyuus, it amazed me when I found out that Okabe, Rintarou was actually voiced by Miyano, Mamoru because he doesn't really sound anything like the typical voices of Miyano. Though Miyano doesn't have that attractive voice (i.e. Tsunashi, Takuto of Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto and Suoh, Tamaki of Ouran High School Host Club) in this series, his voice as Okabe is still as epic as ever(: Other seiyuus that I enjoyed for this series are: Hanazawa, Kana as Mayuri (Tu-turu~), Momoi, Haruko as Akiha, Rumiho (Feyris-nyan!) and Imai, Asami as Makise, Kurisu. Other characters also have outstanding voices which makes this anime really great! :D As for the art, I do have to admit that it isn't anything great. The character designs are somehow too stiff but I'm not really picky that's why I can keep watching this. Despite the stiff drawings, their emotions are still very well depicted in the scenes. So it's not practically bad since it definitely fits the atmosphere of the anime. Anyway, forgetting the character designs, the background is definitely outstanding as well as the times when Okabe travels from one time line to another. Overall, Steins;Gate is a sci-fi, time travelling concept anime which is probably one of the most amazing animes for Spring 2011. This anime is recommended for those who have watched Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. I don't really want to mention why because it can be a spoiler for those who haven't watch Madoka but then, for those who have, Steins;Gate is definitely parallel to it(:

After the epic Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai comes the 2nd season: Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai II. The first arc didn't really went well for me mainly because I'm never a fan of Kusunoki. Anyway, after episode 3, the beginning of Haqua-arc, I'm definitely into watching this. Anyway, maybe not even gaining interest on this series, I'll still watch this because of series obligations. Kaminomi is actually the series that made me start seriously reading manga. So I basically owe this series a lot. LOL. Anyway, the OP is seriously better from the first season. It was from the same artist and it has the same feeling. It's in full english and the tune is really catchy. Story-wise, looks like this season will cover Kusunoki-arc, Haqua-arc, Chihiro-arc and Jun-sensei-arc. Pretty much, it looks like nothing new or interesting will come in this season. Well, the manga isn't as interesting as before anyway. So, what am I really expecting for this series? Personally for me, nothing much has changed though it seems that some people even after the first episode, has been saying that this season is much better from the previous one. Well, I don't really know 'cause I don't really see the difference. Well, it's their point of view, I guess people just have different likings and all. Overall, Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai II is pretty much similar to the first season, so I don't really get so excited into watching this.
