A Channel

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2011

6.75 (above average) A Channel, being a typical slice of life anime, didn't really caught my attention. I have to admit that the preview somehow hyped me up and I seriously have no idea why. Anyway, A Channel can be directly compared to K-ON! without the music. They both have the typical slice of life feeling, the random typical everyday life and the main characters consisting of a group of seniors with a junior. Personally, I didn't fully enjoy A Channel because it's basically not my type of anime. Character-wise, they are the typical ones, nothing new about that. The character that totally caught me is Tooru because of her height and personality. Also, I really love her seiyuu, Yuuki Aoi (Seiyuu of Victorique de Blois from GOSICK). She really did a great job with Tooru(: Art-wise, I'd like to directly compare t to K-ON! because like what I have mentioned earlier, they have the same feeling. So basically, the art also applies to it. Overall, A Channel is an entertaining enough and is a good past time anime to watch. If you like K-ON!, you would most likely enjoy this one too :D

6.50 (above average) Amagami SS is an anime sub-divided into separate story lines showing different endings with different heroines. i decided not to finish this because it wasn't really interesting for me, that is. well personally, i just hate the idea of doing separate stories && at some point, Amagami gets boring too. :P

Angel Beats!

Last Updated: Mar 11, 2011

10.00 (excellent) Angel Beats! is a 13-episode anime and i have to say that i really hate that fact! i sure do wish that Angel Beats! had more episodes or even a season 2. anyway, this is practically my favorite anime so far. this is a personal comment so i don't care if i'll be bias or what. so, the story is practically interesting and half-dramatic. it's only half-dramatic since i did felt sad but i didn't cry even once, though i heard some people actually cry watching this. LOL. anyway, the personal stories of the characters mat require you to shed a tear or two since it is really sad. anyway, the art is really cute and it's one good aspect why i loved the anime so much. also, SSS have a band called Girls Dead Monster and this added to the plus points of the anime. the music their produce is really great and once you read the translation of the lyrics, it's pretty interesting.

overall, this anime is pretty much worth watching if you like those typical comedy, slice of life anime. also, for KEY animations fans, you'll definitely enjoy this one. it's half Clannad-like, meaning it's half-dramatic and it's comedic as well. o( ^ v ^ )b

AnoHana

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2011

10.00 (excellent) Ano Hana is basically my favorite slice of life anime for Spring 2011. The first episode isn't the most outstanding but given the simple plot, I didn't expected that after the 2nd episode, I'd be looking forward to this pure drama anime every week. Story-wise, Ano Hana definitely did a great job keeping it a pure drama and adding a little comedy to lighten the mood a bit. Characterization is outstanding. Each character is unique and they standout in their very own way. Personally, the most outstanding character for me is Matsuyuki, Atsumu a.k.a. Yukiatsu (Sakurai, Takahiro) because of episode 4. As for the rest of the cast, all their moping around definitely what made Ano Hana a success. Art-wise, it has this refreshing kind of feeling, it somehow reminds me of Hourou Musuko though they're not entirely the same, they just have the same atmosphere. As for the music, the ending song which was originally by ZONE and covered by the three female casts, Ai Kayano, Haruka Tomatsu, and Saori Hayami. Reading the translation of the theme song, it makes me think that the anime itself was made for this song. Anyway, what strike me the most here is the well made conclusion that really made me cry. It's practically not the best conclusion but it's typically the best way to end Ano Hana. Though personally speaking, Ano Hana by far had the best conclusion for Spring 2011. In simpler terms, it's a really touching ending(: Overall, Ano Hana is an outstanding drama anime, it didn't only tackle romance but life in general. This is highly recommended for those who loves drama series.

Ao no Exorcist

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Oct 05, 2011

9.00 (very good) I'm not really a big fan of action-battle animes but sometimes, I just can't helped myself to watch when the plot is interesting. Ao no Exorcist is the typical action-battle-comedy anime with an interesting and ironic plot. I mean, who would ever thought of Satan's son becoming an exorcist himself? Well, that's what Ao no Exorcist gives. Story-wise, the plot itself made Ao no Exorcist one of the most interesting shows for Spring 2011. The first two episodes definitely made a great impact giving a really good start for this series. Character-wise, Ao no Exorcist practically have the typical characters. I mean, what do you expect from a mainstream action-battle-comedy anime? Well, there certainly is nothing new about it. Music-wise, background music is good, nothing to complain about that though it isn't really something outstanding for me. As for the Ops and EDs of the first half, CORE PRIDE by UVERworld and Take Off by 2PM, are both great musically though not entirely lyrically. Though CORE PRIDE is definitely better, as expected from UVERworld. Voice acting is good, as a fan of Okamoto, Nobuhiko, I think he's doing a good job as Okumura, Rin. Also, as usual, Hanazawa, Kana never fails to make that really cute voice and so she's doing a great job as Shiemi. As an overall view for the voice acting, they're very well fitted for their roles. As for the art, as mentioned earlier, Ao no Exorcist is practically no different from other action-battle anime, that's why, their art is highly similar. There are times that it fails but battle-wise, it's outstanding. Overall, Ao no Exorcist is an outstanding battle anime given its plot. It's highly recommended for battle-action-comedy anime fans.

8.00 (good) Arakawa Under the Bridge is about Ichinomiya, Kou who was raised by his father to not have any debts to anyone. And unfortunately, one day, he was saved by a girl who lives by the Arakawa Bridge, Nino. Since then, he felt in debt to her and was forced to live by the Arakawa bridge with her as well.
This anime series is practically about the random hilarious events happening by the Arakawa Bridge which is filled with unique and peculiar inhabitants with their very own stories to tell as to why they are staying there. I have to admit that despite this series being more like a gag show, it's very enjoyable to watch and so, I'm definitely into watching Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge next!!! :D

8.50 (very good) After searching for so long, I'm so happy to finally found a good copy of Baccano!. Well, first off, the reason I got interested with Baccano! was because of DURARARA!!. Anyway, as for my first impression on this series, the first episode definitely turned out to be quite an intrigue yet, definitely confusing as well. The opening chat of Carol and Gustav Saint Germain, gave me 100% confusion as to what really is happening. Also, with the story not going in a sequenced manner makes everything confusing. Anyway, after getting used with Baccano!'s style of story telling and finally getting enough knowledge as to what really is happening, I definitely liked it(: Baccano! in many ways is definitely similar to DURARARA!!. Forgetting about the enumeration of similarities, Baccano! presented a huge yet interesting and intriguing set of characters. Art-wise, Baccano! didn't really standout for me yet it fits the theme of the anime. Overall, Baccano! is a must to watch anime most especially if you're a fan of Narita Ryohgo's DURARARA!! :D

9.50 (excellent) bakemonogatari gives out a very peculiar feeling once you started watching it. plus, even at the first episode, you can gain interest in continuously watching this anime. the anime is divided into arcs per character that Araragi, Koyomi encounters. every character has their own strange and interesting backgrounds that it is very easy to get hook to this anime. besides that, the romance between Araragi-kun and Senjougahara, Hitagi and the serious comedies inside this really great anime are really something to look after.. o(>w<)b

Bakuman

Last Updated: Oct 05, 2011

10.00 (excellent) Bakuman is practically one of my favorite anime, it comes after Angel Beats! and DURARARA!!. Anyway, I just practically love how the manga adaptation went really well for this one unlike for Death Note which came from the same authors. The story went on from slow-paced to fast-paced as episodes came by. I think that it started out slow because it basically gives the viewers background as to how things happen in the creation of manga && what it is to know about manga. The characters are really great though at there were some points that I don't like Azuki && i never really liked Kaya, other characters are very much likable(: The conclusion of the first season practically satisfied me. I love how it was very wel wrapped up && how well it will make you look out for the second season.

overall, Bakuman. is a really great slice-of-life anime. it's very much recommended for those aspiring mangakas out there && for those who aren't, this is still an enjoyable anime && once you start watching this, you'll definitely root for Saiko && Shuujin to become no.1 mangakas :D

C: The Money Of Soul And Possibility Control

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2011

6.75 (above average) C is practically one of those animes you won't see every season. With the release of Spring 2011 preview in Random Curiosity, I was so pumped up into watching C. After watching it, my personal opinion regarding the story is that it's too (or maybe quite) complicated that it isn't really some anime that you should watch as a pass time. It requires some attention and thinking. Since I'm not the type who'd sit down and try to put 110% of my mind on something, I ended up getting bored with C but I never really thought of dropping it. Character-wise, each one of them is unique and have their own way of thinking and doing things. In some ways, you can think of them as interesting. Music-wise, I just loved the sounds while they are in battle, the voice saying: "open deal", "microflation" (???), etc. it really caught my attention. As for the seiyuus, only Sakurai, Takahiro as Masakaki caught my attention. Other than that, nothing more. The OP and ED didn't really standout for me. As for the art, I personally think that the character design is pretty weak. Somehow, the human characters just blend in with the crowd and I personally think that the main character, Yoga, Kimimaro, isn't anything special being the main hero of the anime. As for the assets, Q andMasyu are really cute. The rest of the assets are good, personally, I think they are better drawn than the human characters. As for the battle scenes, they seem cool at first but it gets tiring after watching a few more of them. But I do have to admit that the final battle between Kimimaro and Mikuni is outstanding. Overall, C is a pretty good anime to see if you're up for something new, fresh and something that will tickle your mind.

8.50 (very good) both CLANNAD && CLANNAD: After Story are good. the story of this anime is very moving that it actually made me cry quite a few times, well mostly in After Story that is. LOL. anyway, the characters aren't really my favorite but they were just good enough for the anime. though despite how good thsi series is, i decided to give it an 8.5 because i somehow hated After Story because of Okazaki Tomoya. LOL. anyway, the idea of the other world of this anime is quite interesting and it will definitely make you think(:

over all, this anime is highly recommended for those who like drama-type anime with a splash of comedy to cool things off :D

Deadman Wonderland

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Aug 03, 2011

8.50 (very good) Given the title, Deadman Wonderand instantly caught my attention. It makes me think of Alice in Wonderland yet the "Wonderland" isn't anything wonderful because Deadman Wonderland is actually a private owned prison and also acts as a theme-park on the outside. As for those who get imprison in Deadman Wonderland, it’s practically a living hell because of all the rules bounding them such as importance of the "candy". As for those who visits the prison as a theme-park, it's an enjoyment most especially for those who enjoy torture and the likes. Story-wise, Deadman Wonderland has a really great plot which standout among the other series. Being a fan of psychological, horror stuffs, I instantly hit plan to watch when I saw this anime. Though honestly speaking, the story really went great from the beginning and as each episode pass, the story starts getting weak. The conclusion didn't really feel right and I personally didn't liked it. Character-wise, I personally think that most of the people in Deadman Wonderland are just plain crazy. Seriously. I don't really want to describe them one by one. Though personally speaking, my favorite is the oh-so innocent Shiro. Music-wise, OP and ED is really outstanding. With the OP, you can actually understand the story. It's in pure English that's why when I heard the full version of the OP, I was surprised that the OP is actually personally made for this anime. As for the ED, it's an upbeat and cheerful music that wipes all the drama away after watching every episode. Seiyuu-wise, I certainly like Hanazawa, Kana as Shiro. She's really fitting for the role. Actually, I do think that Kana works for any role. Also, I was quite upset for Sakigami, Toto a.k.a. Mockingbird's voice. It's not that I don’t like Sawashiro, Miyuki because I'm perfectly fine with her but it seems that I was just wishing for a more relaxing yet twisted voice for Mockingbird. Maybe something Izaya-like yet younger. Also what caught my attention is the mechanical voice Ono, Daisuke is trying to make for Nagi. Personally, I don't think he sounds anything mechanical. I think Sugita, Tomokazu would perfectly fit the role since I've heard him from SKET Dance as Usui, Kazuyoshi a.k.a. Switch, the guy with the computer as his voice. Art-wise, Deadman Wonderland doesn't have that outstanding kind of art but with the dark and thrilling atmosphere, it totally fits the theme of the anime. Character design is well suited for the anime. The only downside I see in here is the obsessive use of shadows and blur to hide all the blood dripping and freshly slice flesh. Having all those things fully covered, I was really disappointed that's why I didn't enjoyed it that much. Overall, Deadman Wonderland is an interesting horror, thriller anime and it's not really recommended for everyone. Though if you're up for some suspense and is ready for some body-slicing moments, go ahead and watch this(:

Death Note

Seen: completely

Last Updated: May 23, 2011

9.50 (excellent) Death Note is a popular psychological-battle series. It is originaly written by Ohba Tsugumi and illustrated by Obata Takeshi. It revolves around Yagami Light's years of possession of the Death Note which was brought by Shinigami Ryuk to the human world. Yagami Light picked it up and decided to write names of evil people (criminals) to bring justice and clear the world from evil. On the other side, L, find Light's justice to be the opposite and called him a mass murderer. Since then, Light and L's battle began.
-Anime:
Before watching the anime, I decided to start off with the manga because I find reading manga more interesting and way faster. Anyway, the first half of the anime, from beginning until the Higuchi-arc, is a really well-made adaptation. It was really similar to the manga && it's really great to watch because you can actually see Light's tricks in action. As a fan of the manga, I personally loved this part. Once the second-half started, I definitely got bored and started disliking it. (I don't want to bring up spoilers! :P because I never spoiled myself while reading/watching this series). Actually, what made me really upset with the second half is the not-so-good adaptation because something went missing in the anime. Though if you didn't read the manga, you won't actually notice it (LOL.) because it was made flawlessly.
-Manga:
I decided to read the manga because it was really popular. LOL. Anyway, this manga really caught me ever since the first chapter. First, probably because I enjoy reading psychological manga (ever since I read Doubt) and second because Light is a really interesting character. Then, once L came to the scene, things started going better. Their game of hide and go sick is really outstanding. They're not actually looking for each other but they're actually guaranteeing each other's identity. Concept speaking, it's really amazing and unique. I have no other more words for it. Death Note turned out to be one of my favorite mangas because it was interesting.
-Overall: here's some advice, don't take both, just read the manga or watch the anime. LOL. :P

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2011

7.50 (good) The idea of Denpa having a self-proclaimed alien girl reminded me of Nino from Arakawa Under the Bridge. Story-wise, Denpa is just another slice of life anime. The only thing that made it interesting is Touwa, Erio being a self-proclaimed alien and Niwa, Makoto and his inner thoughts about everything. The conclusion isn't anything big and doesn't seem like a conclusion at all. Character-wise, they're al cute and very typical for a slice of life style of anime. Erio is an interesting character having a mysterious reason as to why she proclaims herself as an alien though my personal favorite has to be Niwa. By his looks, he reminds me of Ryuugamine, Mikado from DURARARA!! and I just personally like characters who have funny inner thoughts. As for the music, nothing really special. Background music is pretty standard and doesn't really standout. As for the seiyuus, they pretty much fit their roles well though no one really stands out. As for the art, I have to admit that it's really good. I has this refreshing feeling on the art. The character designs are good and that has to be one of the reasons this anime is worth watching(: Overall, Denpa is a pretty good anime to watch for a pass time. If you like Arakawa Under the Bridge, you will probably gain interest in watching this too though Denpa doesn't have much comedy like Arakawa.

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2011

7.25 (above average) I refer to DOG DAYS a poorly titled anime with a kiddie show style of presentation. Story-wise, it's a fantasy style battle anime. A typical middle schooler, Izumi, Cinque, is brought to another world and is called the hero. He is tasked to save Republic of Biscotti from Galette. The story is fairly easy to understand and it makes me think that it targets younger audience. Character-wise, they never really made my top characters since they're not really interesting and are somehow too typical. Probably, the character that I personally liked the most is Cinque. As for the music, both OP and ED perfectly fit the anime very well having that fantasy-battle feeling to it. Background music is typical and fitting enough for the anime though nothing really stands out. As for the voice acting, hearing Miyano, Mamoru's voice is practically the main reason why I decided to watch this poorly titled anime. I have to admit that I really like Cinque mostly because of hi voice since I am a big fan of Miyano. Other than that, no one standout to me. As for he art, there isn't anything special about it. It's pretty standard and the background characters aren't given much effort like the people who join the wars, they all look the same. Other than that, I don't really have much complains. The character designs are well done and fitting for the genre of the anime. Overall, DOG DAYS is a pretty good fantasy anime to watch as a pass time.

9.25 (very good) GOSICK is a Winter 2011 anime and being a 2-cour anime, it ended together with the Spring 2011 animes. Story-wise, I believe that GOSICK made a good impression since its first episode. The story itself is good enough most especially for those who like mystery type of animes. The side comedies by Victorique is definitely good which makes this anime more enjoyable to watch(: As for the ending, I have to say that it's definitely outstanding. Honestly speaking, it made me tear up because of happiness for both Victorique and Kujo. Character-wise, Victorique is definitely one of the most interesting characters ever. Her serious comedy definitely blends well with her ability to reconstruct any puzzles. Kujo, on the other hand, is a pretty neat character. He's typical yet I find him as the typical hero and nothing special at all. Music-wise, the background music definitely fits the story well but personally not very outstanding. As for the seiyuus, I definitely like Yuuki, Aoi as Victorique de Blois. She played Victoque very well. As for the amateur seiyuu who played Kazuya Kujou, Eguchi Takuya, it seems that many fans simply got annoyed with his voice as Kujo calling for Victorique. Personally, I don't think it's anything to be annoyed at yet I'm not saying that I like voice as well. Actually, I didn't care about his voice at all since I find it too typical. Now for the OP and ED, both are definitely outstanding. The OP and both EDs fit the theme and setting of the anime very well. Art-wise, Bones definitely made a good job with GOSICK. The outstanding character designs and setting are very well made and they really fit the setting of the anime. Overall, GOSICK is an anime worth watching and is definitely recommended for those who like mystery and historical type of animes.

Hanasaku Iroha

Last Updated: Oct 05, 2011

8.50 (very good) Hanasaku Iroha is a typical slice of life anime. The style of the story is pretty standard, the heroine was forced to live with her grandmother whom she has never met, her bestfriend suddenly confessed to her and she unexpectedly landed on the bad side of her roommate. Despite all those things, Matsumae, Ohana is still ready to face everything with all her strength. Story-wise, I'm not a big fan of slice of life animes but I can keep up watching them. I get bored so easily but I do have to admit that there are times that Hanasaku Iroha cas kept me sitting for an hour or two. I haven't reach the second half but I do have to admit that the last episode I watched definitely caught me. It was fairly interesting and it definitely caught me. I'm really looking forward to watching the next half of Hansaku Iroha which is piled up in my external drive. As for the characters, there isn't anything much to expect since they are all of those from standard slice of life anime. The main heroine, Ohana, never really caught my interest since she's practically the typical I-will-do-my-best-no-matter-what type and I'm somehow get tired of it. Well, that was practically my personal opinion. If I'll try to look at it from a different point of view, I can probably say that Ohana is a character that will always get you going because of her encouraging personality. Music-wise, there isn't anything outstanding. Backgrounds are pretty standard and nothing really stands out. OP and ED didn't caught my attention though they are fairly good. As for the art, I have to admit that this is Hanasaku Iroha's strongest point. The art is definitely outstanding, the character designs are pretty standard but the background are definitely great and looks refreshing. Overall, Hanasaku Iroha is a good slice of life anime with an outstanding art. It's definitely recommended for fans of slice of life animes(:

Last Updated: Oct 06, 2011

7.25 (above average) Hidan no Aria has caught my interest when I read the preview in Random Curiosity. I instantly add it to my anime list only to myself disliking the heroine even from the first episode. Well, I don’t really have anything against Hinzaki, Aria but then, I don't really want to talk about why I dislike her. Story-wise, for a harem, action type, its' practically good. No complains about that. The action pack opening with Aria and Tooyama, Kinji was definitely outstanding and it catches attention. Characterization was good though the only outstanding ones has to be Kinji, being a good main character and Mine, Riko being a good antagonist. Also, another outstanding for me, personally, is Reki, the sniper-girl. Well, it's simply because I have this knack for silent-type characters(: Music-wise, I don't recall anything special or interesting. Nothing's wrong with it either. Overall, it's just typically good enough for the anime. OP and ED didn't really caught my attention. The art, on the other hand, is definitely good(: The character designs are outstanding. Personally, I like Reki and her scenes. Also, the action scenes are good, the battle between Aria and Riko in the airplane are good. I guess, the action scenes are Hidan no Aria's strongest point. The best scene has to be the opening scene of the anime, wherein Kinji was being chased by a "butei-killer" in his bike with a bomb. Overall, Hidan no Aria is an anime with good plot though not that outstanding execution and great animation especially for the action scenes. If you're into action anime, Hidan no Aria is definitely something to watch(:

8.00 (good) i just finished watching this && i have to admit, i definitely liked it except for the fact that it's Ecchi >.< anyway, all the action is definitely good && the story, quite good as well ^v^ && the characters, definitely a thumbs up! ^v^b but the thing is, the last episode kind of left me hanging. It makes me feel that another episode is coming but in fact there won't be :( unless.... there'll be a season 2 :D if there'll be, i definitely can't wait for it XD

i just watched the OVA and i just have a few words to it. First of all, the OVA is really pointless. It does have a story and the characters remained as i wish BUT then, if i'm going to say that the original series is more ecchi than action && zombie, the OVA is practically like more ecchi than sex interests and no action && zombie. LOL. Alice-chan did say at the end that it will continue so maybe a season 2 will come soon.. anyway, after this OVA, i don't really know about season 2... if ever there'll be a season 2, maybe it'll be like: 99% ecchi && 1% action... if ever that happens, i'm certainly not watching this any more.. seriously. :|

7.50 (good) i just finished this a few days ago and i have to admit that i am quite disappointed once i finished season 1. not that it's not good because somehow, it is. but i was actually expecting better since many people actually like this series while i ended up not loving it that much. the story is definitely easy to follow, the characters are like those of common anime but maybe it was the comedy part that didn't really stood out to me. also, maybe i'm not really into music-type anime. either way, i'll still go watch season 2 and see how it'll go(:

9.00 (very good) i watched the 2006 version of Kanon && i have to say that it's definitely a good anime. it has the same feeling as CLANNAD because they both have minimal supernatural stuffs. their drama and comedy levels are almost the same. if you like CLANNAD, you'll definitely like Kanon as well (and vice-versa). o(^ v ^)b
